• the turkey was really juicy—brine works!
• the soup turned out great, even though I wasn’t sure I remembered the recipe
• Yanni put her foot in that apple pie. again.
• the corn cheese was a big hit. It is all gone.
• the stuffing, not so much. plenty of leftovers
• but I think that’s because there was so much food you couldn’t really play favorites
• sweet potato casserole always surprises me by how good it tastes
• I hope the chocolate pecan pie is still good on Sunday, because I’m not eating any before then
• Yanni made: turkey, apple pie, cranberry sauce, German chocolate cake, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato filling, started the green bean casserole, which was shelved for another feast, all the pie crusts
• I made: cornbread dressing, corn cheese (while Yanni told me how), rolls, greens, sweet potato topping (pecans, brown sugar, etc.), chocolate pecan pie
• Imani made: springtime soup
• Joy made: sweet potatoes mashed up
• we had 10 people at the table, so all that food wasn’t overwhelming
• everybody liked the sparkling cherry juice
• everybody had a homemade fabric decorated Thanksgiving plate
• my stomach still hurts
