I noticed mosquito bite looking bumps on Joy after her bath on Wednesday. There were too many bumps to be insect bites, though. I wondered if it might be chicken pox.

When I googled chicken pox to see what it looked like, I saw bright red bumps. They wouldn’t look that on darker skin. But I couldn’t find any pictures of chicken pox on black skin.

So I turned to facebook and twitter. I asked the question on both sites, and got several responses on facebook. I consulted a medical site on rashes and was pretty sure this was not chicken pox. The facebook response didn’t make me so sure. I had a doctor’s appointment on Friday afternoon.

The Doctor thought it was chicken pox, just a mild case. Joy has not been sick at all, and she doesn’t scratch much either. I’m waiting to see if Esteban and Chanya get it. I wonder if I can trust the Internet to tell me when it’s no longer contagious. . .
