Guess what season just passed?
That’s right. The biggest yard work season of the year for us, what with our 60 some odd trees in our yard.
The babies usually greet the leaves like Chanya did last year–so happy, so excited. But we older folks know just how much work those pretty leaves are: raking, blowing, bagging, stacking the bags. . .
This year, if I’d had a decent camera, I would have taken a picture of Chanya grabbing an armload of leaves and tucking it into a leaf bag. She was so earnest, so sweet, and then, ooh, the playground, and off she’d go to climb up slide.
Today we finished bagging up the whole yard. I can’t even count the bags by the street. I’m just glad they’re there.
Something tells me this will be another Thanksgiving where we’re all thankful for leaf pickup day.
