Chanya is becoming one of the girls. I am starting to take it for granted. Then I had her at ballet on Sunday, and I heard someone say, “Look at that baby doing the splits on the floor!” I thought, hmmmm, that’s right, that is unusual. She has two sisters that are constantly practicing gymnastics, and they have taught her what they do. She tries forward rolls, splits, she gallops.

And then there’s dancing. We have a pair of baby ballet shoes left over from Yanni’s first costume. Joy has outgrown her tap shoes, so Chanya can play tap dancing with Imani. There’s a tiny princess dress with wings(!) that Miss Lady likes to flounce around in. And, of course, when they play dance, Imani makes sure she puts Chanya’s hair in a bun. So when we watched the Nutcracker DVD, Chanya just happened to be wearing her princess dress and have her hair pulled back for dancing. She lifted her arms as gracefully as she could, and she just floated on the music.
