I hate to go there, but something has me upset today. I know a sweet, talented boy that recently got involved in musical theater.
He used to hang out with his friends, doing his musical thing. He didn’t know anything about theatre. Then he tried out for a play, and got a part. He was bitten. The next play he did, he got a better part. He used to flirt with girls, even had a girlfriend this year. Now he thinks he’s gay.
I knew guys in High School and Junior High that had the same experience.
I am left to believe that there are predators in theatre that are trying to turn boys out—and succeeding more often than not!
I don’t know what it is about the performing arts, but flamboyancy is rewarded; maybe because you have to play everything so big just to get your lines across to the cheap seats. But there it is. And that over the top stuff is advertisement to others, and do they ever come out of the woodwork after that! Not to mention the fact that they are constantly evangelizing their way of life.
Speaking of evangelism, why are gays the only ones effectively doing that these days? How is it that children can grow up in the church and still turn around and think it’s ok to be promiscuous? How can they grow up in a Christian household and make sensual worldly decisions about how they are going to live their lives?
How is it that parents do all they can for their children, think they’re doing a good thing by encouraging their talent, only to have their children defiled and corrupted?
And what are we going to do about this?
