I can’t guarantee this is the last thing about flip-flops, but I can’t not mention this incident I witnessed a couple weeks ago.

My husband and I were relaxing on our front stoop one Sunday afternoon, when a mother and daughter rode down our street on their bikes. The mother wiped out, the daughter shrieked, and we looked up to see the woman underneath her bike.

My husband jumped up and ran over to help her up. She wasn’t injured, and got up and thanked my husband. She was clearly embarrassed as she limped away in her flip-flops, pushing her bike.

A few days later, our son prepared to go on a bike ride in his flip-flops. We both cautioned him, and he changed into his Adidas soccer shoes.

Lesson?

Flip-flops are NOT bike shoes.
