Years ago I played around with unschooling, thinking that free children would pursue their interests.

I didn’t know how much time this would take, and what structure it would require of me.

We ended up scrapping this idea and going back to curriculum.

Now I hear arpeggios, acoustic and electronic daily. One of my children filled my phone with compositions she created with garage band. Now she uses the ipad, which has more space.

She also plays the garage band keyboard during praise and worship, while another child is picking out songs on the xylo piano.

I have even picked up the tinny guitar in the little kids’ room and am teaching myself to play.

So maybe unschooling took this many years to work?

Or maybe music is the only subject I’m qualified to unschool?

Things that make you go hmmm…
